TWINPLAST
IS FIRST CORRUGATED PLASTIC BOARD MANUFACTURER TO COMPLETE RECYCLING
CIRCLE
Environmentally
aware corrugated plastic board manufacturer Twinplast is the first
of its kind to close the recycling loop with its revolutionary Twinplast
Ecoflute product.
For
the first time in the industry, the Watford-based producer of plastic
corrugated packaging products is using 100% recycled consumer plastic
waste in its manufacturing process. Twinplast Ecoflute can be used
for Twinplast Transits (the innovative multi-trip cases and trays
that has a lifespan of at least 100 trips before being recycled),
layer pads and dividers.
In
addition to maintaining Twinplast's reputation as an industry leader
in the development of environmental packaging and processes, Ecoflute
marks a major breakthrough in the use of recycled material.
Twinplast
Managing Director David Holladay said: "We have overcome the technical
aspects of quality control with 100% recycled material and, subject
to colour, it can now be used wherever virgin material was previously
used. It has enabled us to become the first company to close the
recycling loop".
Available
in green or black, Twinplast Ecoflute retains all the other qualities
of Twinplast plastic packaging board, including strength, lightness
and rigidity, and costs no more than plastic board made from virgin
materials.
It
is the latest product to keep Twinplast at the vanguard of developing
high quality packaging that provides a cost-effective solution for
customers and meets environmental legislation.
This
commitment to environmental awareness has resulted in Twinplast
being awarded the international BS EN ISO 14001 standard, one of
the smallest companies to achieve the accolade and the only one
in the packaging industry. The company has also been awarded the
Quality Assurance Standard BS EN 9002 and are Investors in People.
